KHICHARI

KHICHARI
1 cup rice
1cup moongdal saboot(green gram)
i tsp haldi( turmeric)
1tsp zeera
2tbsp pure ghee
salt to taste
and 5 cups of water
method
wash dal and rice separately then dry them under fan for 10-15 minutes so the whole water gets evaporated. heat pan on medium flame noe roast dry dal and rice separately and keep aside. now place pressure cooker on the fire put zeera roast dry lower the flame add haldi roast for few seconds ( take care it should not get burnt)add water then add salt, dal, rice and pressure cook upto 4-5 whistles. let the steam settle down . open the lid an mix ghee properly, it should be little mashy...... for patients its ready to eat ....otherwise serve with curd achaar and papapd .
